Governance

In an effort to build the St. James Town Youth Council and maximize youth and community development  potential by continually engaging, inspiring and mobilizing its members, while ensuring smooth operations and sustainability for years to come, the Governance Committee was formed to develop written governance policies and procedures.

The Governance document will be used internally to ensure good communications, decision-making, and planning and coordination of Council activities and initiatives; and externally with stakeholders, partners, donors and supporters to provide credibility and clarity to address increase demand for organizational integrity, accountability and transparency.

In order for the Council to address the diverse and changing needs of the youth in St. James Town, the Governance document is open for annual review by the Governance Committee, with changes and/or recommendations forwarded in writing to Executive Committee for discussion with Council members.
